Audible frequencies across different age groups

Aim:

The aim was to find out the difference in the range of frequency that different people of different ages can hear.

Method:

1) We divided the test subjects into different age groups.
2) We brought each test subject into a silent room.
3) For each group, we put a blindfold on them.
4) We told the test subjects to raise their hand when the tone was played and to lower it when the tone stopped.
5) Using the app, Pro Audio Tone Generator, we started at 8,000Hz and increased the frequency until it was no longer audible to our test subjects.

Results:

Conclusion

What we can determine from this is that the older a person is, the harder it is to hear the higher frequencies. The reason for this is that with age the small hairs in your inner ear that let you hear get damaged just like in the picture below.
